Description

Speaker:
Paul S. Lavoie
Head of Marketing and Business Development
Carey Manufacturing

Carey Manufacturing is investing millions to move production from China to Cromwell, CT.  We will explore the decision making process, the pros and cons of moving production and what we expect to gain from the decision.
Founded in 1981 by Jack Carey, Carey Manufacturing has been supplying catches, latches and handles for military, aerospace, computer, electronics, telecom, automotive and consumer applications.  In 1993, we expanded our product line by purchasing the Winchester/USECO handle and knobs line and expanded further in 2003 by purchasing Amatom Electronic Hardware.  Our products are sold world-wide through our network of suppliers, sales representatives and through our on-line portal.  We have made the commitment to manufacturing in CT from our 30,000 square foot facility located in Cromwell, CT.

Cowlis Andrews from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) will also provide information about state programs that could help manufacturers that are considering how to maintain and grow their business (including like Carey is doing).

*Sponsorships are available for this event. Please contact Jerry Clupper (jerryc@ssicg.com) if you are interested in learning more.*
