Description

There are a number of Federal and State sponsored programs that are aimed at revitalizing manufacturing and manufacturing businesses that have been initiated over the last few years. UCONN is a major partner in some of them that will impact manufacturing over the coming years. This meeting will provide an overview describing those programs and provide a specific example of manufacturer’s involvement.

Manufacturing USA – National Network for Manufacturing Innovation

NextFlex Institute – this institute focuses on manufacturing of flexible electronics
Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII) – this institute focuses on the use of smart sensors, big data analytics and digital process controls to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Institute –this institute focuses on advancing robotic technology in key areas to enhance the application of robots in the manufacturing environment.

Connecticut Manufacturing Simulation Center

The goal of the new center is to assist small and medium manufacturers in product design and manufacturing by providing them with advanced modeling and simulation services and training
